Freedom of Information FOI/EIR Breach by New Alresford Town Council

The Law requires public authorities such as the town council to respond to requests for public information within 20 working days. NATC took 320 days to respond to our request for the background reports to the November 2024 Community Consultation and only released them after the intervention of the ICO in November 2025.

Why would your council possibly want to keep such information from you and the rest of the community it represents?

Interim Strategic Environmental Assessment – SEA

The SEA aims to ensure that environmental and other sustainability aspects are considered effectively in the plan and its policies.

We have a number of comments to make on the SEA. We believe it would be best if the council would address these before the new draft neighbourhood plan is completed. This would save time and money and ensure that the next consultation will be based on sound evidence.

Sadly, it is proving very difficult to get the town council to consider comments from us and the rest of the community.

Why would New Alresford Town Council not want to address any issues at the earliest opportunity?
